Jacqueline Doris Walters

Jacqueline D. Walters (Langner), 84, died on Monday, May 8, 2023. A beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, sister and friend who was born, raised and resided in Port Washington, NY and retired to Punta Gorda, FL. Jackie was survived by her five children, numerous nieces, nephews and her grandchildren with whom she cherished. Jackie was a feisty woman who enjoyed talking with friends and family, watching the birds off her back porch, and then lanai, and taking care of her family. She was never one to miss the opportunity to lend a hand or provide some wisdom. She was active in the Port Washington Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, PTA, scouting, youth soccer and enjoyed a long career at Lewis Oil Company. She adored her time with husband, John, of almost sixty years and could always be found at his side. She was lovingly known as Aunt Jackie to just about everyone. She would proudly brag about everyone’s accomplishments and keep tabs on all the happenings. A funeral mass will be held at 11am on Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Punta Gorda, Fl. Burial will be on Thursday at 12:30pm at Sarasota National Cemetery. To remember mom, in lieu of flowers, the family is collecting funds for a memorial at the Peace River Wildlife Center where she brought all friends and family to observe the birds and wildlife in the area.
