Jose Antonio Diaz

Jose Antonio Diaz passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023 in Port Charlotte, FL, surrounded by family. Jose was born on August 1, 1941, in Ciego de Avila, Cuba to Clementina Fernandez and Jose Diaz. Passionate from a young age about bikes, motorcycles, and cars, Jose was a talented mechanic who fostered this passion in his sons. His kindness and diligence allowed him to form a special bond with nature through cultivating beautiful gardens, befriending wild birds, and fishing on the family boat. Family was incredibly important to Jose and he will be closely held in his family members’ heart. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Irma; his sons Jose Diaz and his wife Ashley, and Anthony Diaz; daughter Julia Idemis Diaz and her five children, 14 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren; stepdaughters Danielle Nielsen and her husband Kristian, and Pam Spinnato and her son Drew; sisters Maricela Diaz Fernandez and Mariea Goodinson; nephew Jesus Perez and his wife Johanna and children Abigail and Alex; and niece Danaee Perez Doty and her husband Chuck and daughter Victoria. He is predeceased by his parents, Clementina and Jose Diaz.
