Jean Dankel Doyle, 93, passed away peacefully into Heaven on September 18, 2018 in Des Moines, Washington. She was born May 25, 1925 to Richard and Catherine (Pace) Frederickson in Portland, Oregon. A 72-year resident of Seattle, Washington, Jean grew up in Seaside, Oregon, and also lived in Portland, Oregon, where she graduated from Commerce High School with training as an executive secretary. Jean married William Dankel on March 13, 1948 in Seattle. A stay-at-home Mom to her daughter and two sons, she was active in PTA, was a Brownie and Cub Scout leader, and served as a church deacon at Lake City Presbyterian Church. Jean worked as a secretary at Wedgwood Elementary School, and retired after 20 years in 1987. She loved music, traveling, gardening, knitting, reading, antiquing, collecting angels and bone china. She also enjoyed drawing and painting. Jean was kind, loving, joyful, whimsical and generous. She always encouraged others to do their best, follow their dreams and her gift of hospitality was amazing. Her gracious, joyful, positive personality shined throughout her lengthy struggle with Alzheimers. She was a woman of faith who lived her faith daily, serving others in many different ways, and always turning to the Lord for strength as she faced the different trials of her life. She will be dearly missed and held deeply in many hearts. She is survived by her son, David A. Dankel, and his wife, Alicia, of College Place, Washington; son, Paul W. Dankel, of Seattle and his girlfriend, Dawn Cross, of Mill Creek, Washington; daughter, Lynn L. Frohmader, and her husband, Robert, of Des Moines; grandchildren, Andrew D. Dankel-Ibanez and wife, Leticia, of Walla Walla, Washington, Tina A. Dankel of Post Falls, Idaho, and Sophie C. Dankel of Seattle; and great grandson, Andres E. Dankel, of Walla Walla. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Providence Hospice of Seattle, 2811 S. 102nd St., Suite 200, Tukwila, WA 98168 (Attn: Chaplain Service or Special Needs), or the Multiple Sclerosis Society, 192 Nickerson St. #100, Seattle, WA 98109.
