Floyd Edward Turner “Squirrel” passed away on March 25th, 2024 at his residence in Punta Gorda, Florida after a long battle with cancer. Floyd was born on June 22nd, 1944 in Augusta County, Virginia where he was a lifelong resident and native. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Floyd enjoyed spending time with friends and family, fishing and enjoying the mountains of Virginia. Floyd is survived by his daughter, Paula (Fred) Lawson, three grandchildren: Eden Fitzgerald, Darren Fitzgerald and Timothy Thomas. One great-granddaughter, Cheyenne Thomas. Three brothers, John Turner, Donald, Charles and Larry Sprouse. Three sisters, Doris Hanger, Mary Sue Simmons and Cynthia Sprouse. He is preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Laura Mae Turner, three brothers: Clarence Turner Jr, Raymond Turner and Thomas Sprouse Jr. A celebration of Floyds life will be celebrated at a later date in Augusta County VA.
