Mary Lee Loomis

Mary grew up in Arlington, Iowa. She married James Loomis in 1959 and they raised two children together. She spent twenty years working for the state of Colorado, including the Civil Rights Department, Local Affairs, and the Board of Assement Appeals, before retiring and moving to Washington. Mary never tired of learning new things , getting her Master’s Degree at the age of 53. She volunteer taught English to immjgrants and traveled all over the world. Her other great love was music: she sang soprano in the church choir starting from age 11. Mary was proceeded in death be her parents, Ralph and Coy (Shriver) Bateman and her sister Marilyn Tresmer.
