Kay Ann Sherman
October 18th, 1961 - February 16th, 2024
Kay Ann Sherman (Erickson), aged 62, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024, at Adventist-OHSU Hospital in Portland, Oregon following a prolonged illness.
Kay was born on October 18, 1961, in Springfield, Oregon to her surviving mother Marilyn (Kreutzer) Erickson and her late father Marvin Erickson. Kay is also preceded in death by her beloved younger brother Tim Erickson.
Kay graduated in 1980 from Gilchrist High School in Gilchrist, Oregon. Kay was well-known at the Erickson Shell station in Chemult, OR, her family's gas station and towing business. Kay expertly assisted customers with fill-ups and troubleshooting car issues. On November 6, 1993, Kay married John Sherman and eventually settled with him in Gold Beach, OR where they raised two children and were members of the local Moose Lodge. Kay was actively involved with Girl and Boy Scouts with her children. Most recently, Kay was employed as an in-home care giver.
Kay is survived by her husband John Sherman (Gold Beach, OR), daughter May Sherman (Rockford, MN), son Eric Sherman (Eugene, OR), mother Marilyn Erickson (Chemult, OR), extended family members, friends, and her treasured dogs.
A celebration of Kay’s life is being planned for Saturday, June 29, 2024 in Gold Beach, OR.
