Clayton Eugene Myers
June 8th, 1924 - October 22nd, 2012
Born to Irvin and Lilly Myers of Harrah, WA, their first born son was born on June 8, 1924. Clayton’s youth was spent in Harrah, and he graduated with the class of 1942 from Wapato High School. Until he was called into the service, he worked in Yakima. April 25, 1943 he entered the Army. A World War II veteran, he served in England. Following D-Day he participated in the Liberation of France. After a year in Paris, he was stationed on Luzon, Philippines, and from there was sent to Yokahama, Japan where he was stationed in the Army of Occupation, after that, onto Tokyo to await his discharge. Clayton enrolled in Central Washington University majoring in Education. His fifth year was from the University of Washington. He spent over 30 years in the Highline School District, as vice principle at Cascade junior high school, Highline High School and finishing at Tyee High School. He is survived by his loving wife Kathryn Jeannette whom he married while they were college students. Two sons, David B Myers (Connie) and Stephen D. Myers (Jackie) Six Grandchildren Christi Mader (Garth), Kimberly Freyberg (James), Heather Robertson (Michael), David B. Myers Jr. (Calista), Stephanie Myers and Jody Myers. Eight Great Grandchildren, Taylor Freyberg, Chandler, Kylie and Bryn Mader, Kaitlyn and Samantha Myers, and Ella and Gavin Robertson. Clayton is preceded in death by his parents and Brother Carroll F. Myers (Chubby). After Retirement he and Jeannette spent winters in Mesa, Arizona, Palm Springs and Hawaii. Both Loved to travel taking many trips to Europe and their favorite places. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Federal Way, WA. A Rosary will be Oct. 29th at 7pm at St Vincent de Paul, Federal Way. Funeral Mass on Oct.30th at 11am at St. Vincent de Paul Parish Federal Way. (In lieu of flowers, your favorite charity)
