Lorraine L. Aston
January 22nd, 1942 - May 18th, 2015
Lorraine Aston, 73, passed away of cancer on May 18, 2015 in Olympia, Washington. She was born January 22, 1942 to Willis and Edith Hills in Colville, Washington. She graduated from Kettle Falls High School, Kettle Falls, Washington in 1960, and from flight attendant school in Los Angeles, California in 1962. She married the love of her life, Stan Aston, on June 30, 1963 in Colville. Lorraine was a drafting engineer assistant with the U.S. Forest Service in Packwood, Washington (1965-1969) and with the Grant Co. PUD in Ephrata, Washington (1969-1980). In 1981, she became a fulltime homemaker. She loved volunteering at her children’s schools, being a grandma to her grandson Taylor, gardening, skiing, snowmobiling, dancing, taking photos, and traveling. She was a social member of the Olympia Country and Golf Club. Lorraine was a caring, loving, positive woman who always looked for the good in people. She had a heart of gold and always put others before herself. Her greatest joys in life were her children and grandson. Lorraine lived in Colville (1942-1965), Packwood, WA (1965-1969), Ephrata, WA (1969-1980), Spokane (1980-1986), and Olympia, WA for the past 28 years. She is survived by her husband, Stan Aston of Olympia; son, Ryan Aston of McCleary, WA; daughter, Lyndsey Aston of Olympia; grandson, Taylor Aston of Honolulu, HI; and sisters, Nadean Cooper of Gordonville, TX, Jeanette Sly of Kettle Falls, WA, Diana Frostad of Marcus, WA, and Mickie Slubowski of Castlegar, British Columbia, Canada.
