Ervin Burkhart passed away October 25, 2014 in Rochester, Washington, three days shy of his 76th birthday. He was born October 28, 1938, to Everett and Ethel (Crank) Burkhart in Lincoln, Wisconsin. Ervin was a 1956 graduate of Tenino High School. His passion was sailing; he was a lead engineer, working on the Navy’s “Mothball Fleet” out of Puget Sound. He had sailed the world three times Ervin married Patricia A. Dalton on October 4, 1991 in Olympia, Washington. He was a loving family man who loved spending time with his nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Burkhart; sons, Kevin Burkhart and Kelly Burkhart; stepson, Rob Martz; stepdaughter, Becky Strand; brothers, Clayton, Edward, and Jake Burkhart. He was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, Calvin and Clifford Burkhart. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed.
