George L. Daubert, 87, passed away May 18, 2016 in Montesano, Washington. He was born November 16, 1928 to Henry Daubert and Leota (Jacobs) Daubert in Riverton, Wyoming. George joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed in Alaska as a radioman. He later re-upped and was sent to Massachusetts where he finished out his Naval duties. He worked for a time at the Naval Shipyard in Bremerton, Washington. He later went on to work as a mechanic at Simpson Timber Company in Grisdale, Washington, Day Ford of Elma, and The Port of Grays Harbor in Aberdeen, Washington. After the death of his first wife, Claire, he married Grace (Vezina) Isenhart on January 31, 1973 in Montesano. He and Grace owned and operated the concession stand at Lake Sylvia State Park for many years. She predeceased George on December 6, 2008. George loved to fish and hunt, travel, and sit quietly in the evenings doing word search. He was a member of the Moose, and a Lifetime Member of VFW Post 2455, where served as Post Commander for a time. He also volunteered for the local Red Cross. George is survived by his sons, Steve Daubert of Olympia, Washington, Frank Daubert of Elma, Washington, and Tom Isenhart of Brady, Washington; daughters, Sandra Pederson of Montesano, Washington, and Michele Beerbower of Elma, Washington; 18 grandchildren; 44 great grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; brother, Raymon Daubert of Westport, Washington; and sister, Beverly Eckley of Burien, Washington. He was predeceased by his wives, Claire and Grace; parents, Henry and Leota; and brother, Gene Daubert. Memorial donations may be made to Disabled Veterans.
