Albert Leo Kristek
August 11th, 1937 - May 10th, 2024
Albert, born on August 11th, 1937, in Marion County, Kansas, to Joseph and Mary (Havlik) Kristek, was a man of steadfast values and deep-rooted passions. Raised on a farm alongside his brother George (d. 2017) and sister Florence, Albert learned the value of hard work and the beauty of simplicity. In 1959, Albert married Mary Ann Westerhaus (d. 2017), a union that blessed them with four children: David, Mark, Cathy, and Paul. Their journey led them from Kansas to Seattle in 1979, where Albert dedicated over 30 years of his life to a fulfilling career at Boeing. Upon retirement, his hands found solace in his woodworking, a craft that spoke volumes of his meticulous nature and creative spirit. Albert took great pride in his yard, spending countless hours tending to his dahlias and his pristine lawn. He lived a life guided by faith, family, and friendships. Mariner games were not just a pastime but a shared joy with loved ones, embodying the simple pleasures he cherished. Under a rare night of the Northern Lights, the heavens heralded his arrival. On May 10th, Albert peacefully bid farewell after a quick and brave battle with a brain tumor, leaving behind a legacy of resilience and love. He is survived by his sister Florence (LJ), his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, each carrying forward his spirit of strength and kindness.
