Michael Duane Payler Michael was born in Seattle on March 20, 1947 to Mildred (Millie) and Robert Payler. He attended Brighton Elementary and subsequently Queen Anne Junior High and High school when it was combined. He finished his curriculum there in June 1966. Michael was one of five brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three of his brothers: Robert Payler (the eldest) Scott (the youngest) and Peter (second to the youngest). John is the only living brother. He and his lovely wife live in Preston where the rest of Michael’s extended family reside. Michael worked for Sears and Roebuck for forty years and ten months first as a fork lift operator on the loading docks at the first south and Lander location, and then as an Ostler driver. After retiring in 2007, being the steadfast hard-working man that he was, he didn’t stop there. He went to work for Union Pacific’s Railroad Terminal Services again as an Ostler driver. He did finally retire from R.T.S. at the age of 74. He is survived by his wife of 16 years. They went to the same High School but only passed in the hallways without actually meeting until many years later at their 40th class reunion. They went out for a date one week later; visiting all of the old haunts if you will and the rest is history. They were married on August 25, 2007 in a quaint little white church in Preston by Pastor Roy Peacock. They lived in a pretty blue manufactured home for all of their married life together. Michael was a very friendly, helpful and kind neighbor. He never forgot to wave and say hello to anyone he met. He will be missed. “Rest in Peace” Michael “you have certainly earned it.” He passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday morning, May 6, 2024.
