Ruby S. Davis

Ruby S. Davis, a daughter, mother, den mother and grandmother, was born March 16, 1915 in Bemidji, Minnesota and passed away on September 23, 2008 at the age of 93. The daughter of William & Selma Ohlenkamp, she moved to Tacoma in her early teens. She graduated from Lincoln High School and later married Peter A. Davis. A stay at home mother, she enjoyed reading, extended family trips to the ocean and cooking. She embraced her husband's Greek heritage and mastered many Greek dishes and desserts that all enjoyed when visiting the family residence. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Peter and brothers, William and Ronald Ohlenkamp. She is survived by her sons Andrew (Kate) Douvis of Tacoma and Peter (Chris) Douvis of Bremerton, sister Opal Latteral of Puyallup, two granddaughters, Jennifer and Renee and grandson, Brian. Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM in the Piper-Morley-Mellinger Chapel 253-472-3353 (Remembrances are not requested but remembering is welcome.)
