Lester "Les" G. Janz
February 22nd, 1937 - December 5th, 2014
Les passed peacefully and unexpectedly surrounded by his family. He was born and raised in Mosinee, Wisconsin, on his parents’ farm. Not wanting to be a farmer, Les moved to Milwaukee to apprentice as a machinist. It was there he met his wife of almost 57 years, Mary. In 1966, Les was hired by Boeing and moved his family to Renton, Washington. Les worked as a machinist and manager at Boeing for 30 years. In 2007, Les and Mary moved to Olympia to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Les loved God and his family; his best times were spent surrounded by them. Les is survived by his wife, Mary; his children and their spouses, Greg Janz (Cindy Jovanelly), Karen Shaffer, Susan (Carey) Hartmann, and Kathy (Eric) Swanstrom; his beloved grandchildren, Jeremy and Joshua Janz, Michelle (Luke) Kathlean, Kelsy Hartmann, Nicholas Luckman, and Sarah and Meredith Swanstrom.
