William "Bill" E. McNeil
May 29th, 1922 - April 7th, 2015
William E. “Bill” McNeil, 92, passed away April 7, 2015 in Gig Harbor, WA, his home the last two years. He was born May 29, 1922 to William A. and Elda (Schuh) McNeil in Bremerton, WA. Bill graduated from Bremerton High School and a technical photographic school in New York City. He married Alice M. Orwiler on March 8, 1944. He served in the US Navy during World War II from January 14, 1944 to December 31, 1945 in the Pacific Theater. Over the years, Bill lived in various cities but made Olympia, WA home for 23 years. Bill worked for Eastman Kodak, GAF and Anitec Image in technical sales to the printing industry for 30 years. A professional photographer, he had a wide range of photographic interests. He also enjoyed bridge, golf, pool, fishing and boating. Bill had a well-developed sense of curiosity, was interested in everything, and loved learning how things worked. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge for 65 years. Bill is survived by his wife of 71 years, Alice McNeil; daughters, Teri Nichols of Gig Harbor, and Linda Porteous of Kennewick, WA; and one grandchild.
