Robert "Bob" Lloyd Petersen

Robert Lloyd “Bob” Petersen Bob passed away on June 28, 2013 with his family close by his side at St. Peter Hospital in Olympia, Washington. Bob was born on May 2, 1940 in Mobridge, South Dakota; his family and he subsequently moved to Washington State and eventually settled in the Tumwater area. He graduated from Olympia High School in 1958, and enlisted in the United States Navy; he served as a radio operator aboard ship and was honorably discharged in 1963. Shortly after returning home, he met a wonderful woman and married the love of his life, Bobbi, on June 19, 1965. He worked for Crown Cork and Seal for nearly 33 years, retiring in 2002. He loved watching sports, bowling, spending time at the beach, going out to dinner, spending time with family, and telling stories (particularly ones about his experience in the Navy). His sparkling eyes, great smile, laugh, sense of humor, and remarkable memory brought much joy to our family and will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Bobbi; daughter, Jaci (Forrest) Buckallew; son, Eric (Karen) Petersen; daughter, Holli (Brad) Stewart; six grandchildren, Janelle (Brandon) Lindsey, Danielle Buckallew, Lucas Petersen, Jack Petersen, Cameron Petersen, Haley Stewart; his sister, Shirley (Tim) Erickson; nephew, Shaun Schlenker; and niece, Dana (Jeff) Cowell.
