Ronald Gene Plaja
Ronald Gene Plaja, 59, passed away at home in Olympia, Washington, on April 20, 2014, surrounded by close family. Ron was born on August 15, 1954 in Amoret, Missouri, to Shirley and Bob Plaja. Ron was extremely generous, patient, and loving. He had many friends and took great pride in being a good father. He was also extremely hard working. Whether it be logging, fishing, truck-driving, working in the scrap metal business, or playing poker and working in card rooms, he always took pride in his work and usually had a good time doing it. Ask anyone who knew him—Ron always had a good story to tell. Ron had many hobbies; he liked guns, cars, and motorcycles. He really enjoyed playing poker and loved going to Vegas. He was meticulous, which made him great at working in the yard and on the house, going to sales, and collecting antiques. In the late 1970s, Ron lived and worked in Alaska. Upon returning in 1980, he met Suzanne and they married on August 8, 1986. Ron is survived by his wife of 27 years, Suzanne; their two sons, David and Ron Henry; daughter-in-law, Jenny; brother, Mike, and sister-in-law, Joan; two sisters, Kathy and her husband Shawn, and LeeAnn and her husband, Bill; niece, Jennifer; nephews, Chris, Jason, Mike, Ryan, and A.J.; and dog, Buster. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Please leave memories of Ron or condolences for his family in the Guestbook below.
