Funeral Alternatives of Washington - Tumwater
Alice Virginia Quintus
Alice was born in Jerome, Idaho on November 2, 1923 to Katherine and Rinehart Goemmer. She passed peacefully into the loving arms of her Lord on September 2, 2013 at 89 years of age. Alice married the love of her life, Wally Quintus, on November 14, 1943 in Yakima, Washington. She and Wally farmed for many years in the Yakima Valley, near Grandview, Washington. Alice served as Washington State President of the American Legion Auxiliary in the mid 1970s. She was an active member of PEO and the Methodist Church. About 1980, they moved to Anacortes, Washington, where they enjoyed boating in the San Juan Islands, and spent many winters in Arizona. In 1993, they moved to Eagles Landing in Tumwater, Washington to be near their son and close to their daughters. Alice loved her family and friends. She kept close ties with all. She enjoyed game nights with friends and family. She loved the holidays and every event her family participated in. She was the mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and sister who everyone wishes they could have. She was a treasure to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her brother, Charles Goemmer, and wife, Carol, of Yakima, Washington; her daughter, Virginia (Vicki) Jocelyn, of Tumwater, Washington; her daughter, Carol Bevandich, and husband, Mike, of Lincoln City, Oregon; and her daughter-in-law, Patsy Quintus. She also is survived by eight grandchildren, Greg Eddie, Kim Richmond (Rob), Michelle Jocelyn, Bob Bevandich (Janet), Tina Matheny (Ro), Tony Quintus, Kelly Gage (Mike) and Tracy Killoran (Tim); 14 great grandchildren, Matt Eddie, Jenni Crabtree, Kelsie Crabtree, Payton Gage, Austin Quintus, Cody Quintus, Jeremy Matheny, Emily Matheny, Josh Matheny, Mariah Bevandich, Haley Bevandich, James Bevandich, Jade Bevandich, Jasmine Bevandich and Whitney Killoran; and three great-great grandchildren, Ryder Burger, McKinley Matheny and Elias Matheny. She is also blessed with many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace (Wally); her son, Jerald Kendall (Patsy); her parents, Katherine and Rinehart Goemmer; her brother, Jean Richard Goemmer; her sister, Margaret Louise Cornelis (Willem); and her brother, James Harlan Goemmer (Fern). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eagles Landing Clubhouse in Tumwater, Washington. Graveside services will be held on Monday, September, 23, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, Washington. Alice, who was a HUGE Mariners fan, will be honored at the September 28, 2013 Seattle Mariners/Oakland Athletics 1:10 p.m. game when her name is flashed across the giant screen.
