Joe was born November 11, 1953 in Tacoma, WA and passed away on July 17, 2017. He resided in the Tacoma-Puyallup area most of his life. Joe graduated from Lincoln High School in 1972. He continued his education at the University of Washington where he earned his Associates Degree. Joe then settled down and made a family with Maryanne John. They had two children together. Later in life he met Donette Smith. Joe lived on East 29th St in Tacoma WA for many years. At this house he would have his Famous Annual Yard Sale. He loved music, to listen to it and of course to play it. His passion was to play the drums and harmonica. He worked for Puyallup Tribes for 43 years as the Fisheries Director. Joe had a huge heart and love for everyone. Joe is survived by his children Joseph Anderson Jr. and Regina John; grandchildren Amelia John and Birdie Nation; life partner Donette Smith; siblings Carl Anderson and Albert Anderson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his daughter, Susan Anderson; parents, Andrew and Susan "Judy" Anderson Sr.; siblings Ernest Anderson, Andrew Anderson Jr., Cathy Little Raven, and Lenora "Nonie" Olson.
