Johnna Durga

Johnna (John) Eugene Durga was born Sept 15, 1947, and passed away on December 2, 2019 @ 3:25am. Johnna was born to Raymond Durga and Phyllis (Durga) Riley. Johnna is survived by her two nephews from her brother David A. Sr., David Jr. Durga and Raymond Durga, both from Morton. Johnna has two step siblings, Patrick and Sean Riley. Johnna has many nieces and nephews, cousins and other family members spread out in different states as well as Washington. Her cousin Sonya Maxwell has been taking care of her for over the last year. Sonya had signed Johnna up for hospice and Sonya was the main caregiver. Sonya was with Johnna when she passed away. Johnna lived a very simple life. When he was a younger man named John, he married the love of his life which ended after a few years. She retired from the Olympia School District, where she worked in janitorial. She started her own janitorial service, which was very successful. Johnna used to help her best friend Krystal at her dog grooming business, which was the highlight of Johnna’s day. Johnna loved her dog Champagne. When her dog passed away Johnna got a new dog named Bugsy, which was 4 months ago, though she couldn’t care for him and had him go to a new home. Johnna had a teddy bear that she named Bugsy. Johnna found comfort in her close friend Carrie when she had nobody else around. They were very close. Johnna loved her family very much and missed them, she had pictures hanging everywhere so she could always see them. Not once when I was there taking care of her that she didn’t ask how different family members were. Johnna used to love yardwork, when she had her big heart attack she could no longer do what she loved. Johnna follows in death her dad Raymond Durga, her mother Phyllis (Durga) Riley, her stepfather Eugene Riley, her brother David Durga Sr., Johnna’s sister-in-law Mary Durga A celebration of life potluck for Johnna will take place at Johna’s residence in Olympia, at 3730 14th Ave SE, on December 21st, 2019 at 1:00pm.
