Charles, 67, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2013. Charles was born September 28, 1945 in Oklahoma. He served in the United States Navy from 1964 to 1968 during Vietnam. He received his high school diploma in 1968 and then attended Los Angeles City College for two years. He received his Teacher’s Standard Designated Credentials. He worked as a Maintenance School Bus Driver and an Assistant Preschool Teacher in the Kedren Community Health Care Center Head Start program. He had worked as a Music Coordinator/Consultant and Promoter for L.B. Evans & Associates in Chicago, Illinois, and then as a Band Leader /Music Coordinator for T.R. Entertainment Production, Inc. in Los Angeles, California. He most recently had worked in maintenance for the Pilot Travel Center in Tumwater. Charles will be remembered for his kind heart and his love for all his friends and family, and his wonderful stories and passion for music. He is survived by his daughter, Amber Simpson of Mc Cleary; three grandchildren; his foster mother, Erma Wells; his ex-wife, Vicki Dickerman of Lacey; and a host of friends.
