Mary Morgan

Mary Morgan was born on May 11th, 1959 in Tacoma, WA to Ronald Morgan and Ellen Graves. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her daughters on the morning of October 22nd, 2020. Growing up, she attended school at Lowell Elementary, Stewart Middle School & Lincoln High School and later went on to earn her AA degree at Pierce College in 1999. Mary was the matriarch of our family after her father passed away in 2005. She always made sure we celebrated every holiday and every birthday together. Mary had a love for music, she listened to many different genres, her favorites were gospel and country. One of her favorite hobbies was playing poker, which she was excellent at. Something she always looked forward to was camping down in Rochester for our annual pig roast every Labor Day. Mary’s Christian faith was so important to her, she was a strong believer in God & she installed that in her children at a young age. She loved to cook and would make some amazing fried chicken. She also baked a special torte that we are eager to carry on. Most of all she adored her grandchildren and spent a lot of her time with them. She is proceeded in death by her Mother, Ellen Graves, her father Ronald Morgan, & her brother David Morgan. She is survived by her sister’s Patricia Morgan and Charlene Rogers, and her brother’s Cecil Morgan and Albert Morgan. Her children Jessica, Melissa, and Miranda Morgan her grandchildren Kyndahl (21), Jaylynn (14), D’Marion(9), Stevon(3), & Jaiceon(6 months) & her great grandson Kendrick(1 month). Although our entire family is deeply heart broken by the loss of our mother, we grieve the loss of an incredible woman together. We are so thankful for the time we got to spend with her while she was here on earth. We may have lost her physically, but we firmly believe that one day we will reunite with her again in Heaven. Her celebration of life will be held on November 6th 2020 beginning at 11am at Edwards Memorial 11020 S Tacoma Way, Lakewood, WA 98499. If you would like to attend the viewing that will begin at 9am, the service will be followed by a graveside burial service at Sumner Cemetery at 1:30pm.
