Lois went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2015 at the age of 68. She was born to Mac Wilford and Frances Jean Talley on August 29, 1947 in Weiser, Idaho. Her family moved often during her childhood with her fondest memories being of Baker City, Oregon. Her family moved during her junior high days to Springfield, Oregon where she met her future husband of fifty-one years, Lyle. She was a proud member of Thurston High School class of 1965, where she just celebrated her fiftieth class reunion this past August. Lyle and Lois were married on August 29, 1964 and had a son, Larry (Heather) and a daughter, Lori (Mike). She loved being a wife and mother but said “nothing was better than being a grandmother.” She cherished her seven grandchildren: Rachael, Chase, Kathleen, Cramer, Kaitlyn, Kelsie, Kendra and her great-grandson Hunter. In 1972 the family moved to Spokane and became neighbors to the Bearden family. A wonderful lifetime friendship developed between the two families with Lois and JoAnn being best friends for over forty-three years. In 1978 the family moved to Lacey where Lois lived out the rest of her life. In 1979 she started working in the dental field as a dental receptionist. She had the pleasure of working with terrific dentists: Dr. Weaver, Dr. Niemann, Dr. Myers, Dr. Cooper, Dr. Isaacson, and Dr. J. Moss along with their wonderful staffs and great patients. Lois made numerous close friendships from working at these offices and on December 19, 2014 Lois retired after thirty-five years. On October 30, 1996 Lois was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer. Thanks to the wonderful care from Dr. Andriacchi, Dr. Lechner, Dr. K. Burnell Schaetzel-Hill, U of W Medical Center, and St. Peter Hospital, along with their staffs, Lois was able to live nineteen more years getting to do the things she loved such as travel-with the highlight being a trip to Graceland to see Elvis’ home, adding to her pig collection, time with family and friends, and developing a closer walk with the Lord. She attended BibleScope Center Church in Spanaway with her Pastor Samuel Bass, first lady Debbie Bass and amazing church family. She also attended Bible Study Fellowship on Monday evenings for the past ten years of which the ladies and their prayers meant a lot to her. Lois was preceded in death by her father Mac, brother Ray and nephew Bobby. She is survived by her mother Jean, sister Fran, and brothers Jim, Rick, and Scott, husband, son and daughter in law, daughter and son in law, her grandchildren, great grandson, numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Family would like to thank everyone for their out pouring of love and support during this time. Also a special thanks to Funeral Alternatives for their caring and professionalism. Please leave memories of Lois or condolences for the family in the Guestbook below.
