Susan Marie Pedersen Smith, age 66, died at Western State Hospital, Lakewood, WA, on Wednesday, April 9, 2014. Susan was born April 18, 1947 in Coulee Dam, WA, to Weldon and Kay Pedersen. Susan graduated from Olympia High School. She worked as a secretary for many years and also sold previously owned mobile homes for Detrays before she became ill. Susan loved to crochet and will be remembered for the beautiful items made for relatives and friends. Her daughter and granddaughters were the love of her life. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Blaine Bachus; granddaughters, Raechel and Dylan Mabry, all of San Antonio, TX; as well as sister, Carol Robel (Joe) of Olympia; and brother, Gary Van Cleve (Charlotte) of Oak Harbor, WA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to be made to NAMI Thurston/Mason Office, 4305 Lacey Blvd. SE #28, Lacey, WA 98503.
