Vernon Ray Cooley, 78, passed away January 23, 2022. Vernon was born in Tacoma, WA to Edwin and Mabel Cooley on January 23, 1944. He had five siblings to include one sister and four brothers. He attended Bethel High School in Spanaway, Washington and proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS midway. He was a talented floor carpenter and custom door fabricator in Puyallup, WA and its surrounding area. In his early years, Vernon enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, golfing, and slow pitch with his family and friends. One could always expect him to attend his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events, as he loved to watch all sports. He is survived by his children, David (Patricia) Cooley, Joy (Matt) Pierce, and Jana (Joe) Stowe. Grandchildren Casey (Melanie) Stowe, Colby Stowe, Madison Pierce, Dalton Pierce, Benjamin Cooley and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Vernon was preceded in death by his sister, Opal Swick and brother, Dale Cooley. Vernon will be greatly missed by his many family members and friends.
