Richard Meadows

We are sad to announce the passing of Richard “Rick” Jesse Meadows. He died at the young age of 60 on April 8, 2023. Rick was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He passed away surrounded by loved ones after a battle with a brief illness. Rick was born on October 20, 1962 to Reba Meadows and Jesse Shepherd. He was an admirable man; being a veteran and serving 21 years as an honorably decorated army soldier. He highly valued education and the doors that it opened with the power of information. He graduated from Bellevue University with a Bachelors of Science in 1997, and a Masters of Science in Acquisitions and Contract Management in 2014. He went on to become a senior contracting officer and retired after 17 years of work. In his free time he enjoyed playing golf on various courses and watching sports on Sundays. The rest of his time was devoted to family which mainly consisted of going to the movies, road trips and discovering new places to dine at. He was a devoted husband to his wife and partner of 10 years, Tatiana, and loving father to his children: Nicole and Monique, grandfather to Gabriel and Nova. Richard was also survived by his sisters Phyllis, Tammy and brother William. Richard was a supportive figure in many people’s lives and will be deeply missed. There will be a memorial service to celebrate and remember Rick's life on Thursday, April 20th, from 10am-1pm at Edwards Memorial Funeral Home. 11020 S Tacoma Way. Lakewood, WA 98499. Procession will follow service to the Tahoma National Cemetery.
