Ruth M. Yukish

Ruth Memmott Yukish was born January 6, 1930 in Nephi, Utah. She passed peacefully May 2, 2016, leaving behind a long legacy of service to her family, church, and community. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Walter J. Yukish; step-daughter, Delores Dills; daughter-in-law, Theresa Kay; and granddaughters, Judith Michlik and Kelly Dills. She is survived by her children, R. Marlin Kay (Lisa), Kevin G. Kay (Annette), Brent L. Kay (Nancy), Gary W. Yukish (Kina), Linda Gulbransen (Derek), LuAnn Strom; stepchildren, W. Lee Yukish, John A. Yukish (Leora); stepson-in-law, Roy Dills; as well as 40 grandchildren and 68 great-grandchildren. While her posterity is great, she was known to many as “Grandma Ruth” as she babysat countless children over the years, both as a form of employment as well as in service to others. She served faithfully in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, fulfilling callings in the Primary, Young Women, and Relief Society organizations. Over the years, she cared for many. Ruth was a proud member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and was a founding member of the Mt. Tahoma Camp, the first in the Federal Way area. There was not one soul who met her who did not feel of her love and generosity. She is forever etched on the hearts of those she touched and will be missed.
