Robert George Everding
August 23rd, 1923 - February 19th, 2015
Bob was born in Saint Louis, MO and graduated from McKinley High School where he captained the baseball team. In 1943 he married Bette Jane Lehman (deceased) in the historic Saint Mary of Victories Catholic Church in downtown Saint Louis. He served as a Navy Aviation Radioman and Instructor during World War II before working for Missouri Pacific Railroad. Later he became co-owner of Modern Typesetting in Saint Louis He served as scoutmaster, baseball coach and American legion commander. He was also an enthusiastic fan of University of Missouri football and held season tickets for decades. Bob was a lifelong ham radio operator (call letters NOEVQ) who earned DX awards and who mentored younger keymen. Most of all, Bob enjoyed people and giving a helping hand to others. He was a friend to all the kids in the neighborhood where he was known as the always-generous “Mr. Bob.” He is survived by his son Bob Jr. and daughter-in-law Sally as well as grandchildren Brian and Julia; and great grandchildren Sadie, Julia and Harper. He will be especially missed by his brother Mart and his wife Carol, Dave Gauding, niece Sue Hallett and his four godchildren -- Amy O'Connell Goldschmidt, Janet Everding Gumpert, Dave Everding and Kevin Bowman. Bob will be most remembered as an affable man who brought smiles and sunshine into every life he touched
