Ted was born Sept. 10, 1944 in Tacoma. He passed away June 15, 2013 at St. Joseph hospital. After a six week battle with Myeloid Leukemia. He was preceded in death by his parents Pete Frank and Mary Margaret Paggeot and his sister Yvonne Rodin. He left behind his wife, Janice; sons, Ted Jr. and James; his cousin, Sharon and Husband Jim Fink, their daughter Kellie Hartman; niece Pam Soulier and nephew Bret Rodin. When Ted and Janice were married on June 19, 1993, his small family grew. He joined the Johnson-Thomas clan: His mother and father-in-law Mary and Carl Thomas, father-in-law Jim Johnson, then his brother and sister-in law Brian and Robin Darrell, Kevin Hoydt and Tammy, Jason and Shelly, Scott and Darlene, Stan and Kim and too many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great nephews to mention, whom he loved very much. Ted joined the Navy in Feb, 1962 and was honorably discharged in 1968. He then joined the Army Reserves in 1974. Ted was a member of the Northwest Laborer’s Union Local 252 for 30 years, where his son Ted Jr. became some years ago. Ted Sr. was so proud. In 2004, he retired from WM Dickson Co. Ted loved the outdoors, hunting with his buddies in Eastern Washington, fishing and boating on the Sound, and in his younger days, driving the smaller class hydro planes. He always looked forward to the annual camping trip to Mosseyrock with the family. He would bring out the large grill and make enough food for all 50 of them. His great love was Golf. He enjoyed playing with his M.A.G. club. The most fun Ted had was playing golf with Ted Jr. and James. He loved it when they could out drive him on the fairway. Ted and Janice did a lot of travelling in their 27 years together. For Janice’s 50th birthday they took a Mexican cruise. Ted really didn’t want to go, but he really had fun. There was talk of a Hawaiian cruise for their 25th. When Ted was working he had a standing lunch down at Johnny’s Dock with Kelly. After he retired, that day got moved to Wednesday, Martini Day, with Dwayne. Johnny’s Dock holds a special place for Ted and Janice. That is where Ted took her for her 26th birthday, James’ Kindergarten graduation, many birthdays and monthy pre M.A.G. meetings. They moored their boat down there for the summers. Ted was proud when James went to work at Johnny’s as a prep-cook. That was one way Ted could see James on Wednesday. Anyone who knew Ted knew that he would do anything for you. Everyone knew his dog April. April passed away eleven days after Ted from leukemia. The family is planning a celebration of life down at Johnny’s Dock in early September. Check back for exact time and date. Please, do not wear black and if you have any pictures please bring them for the wall. Thank you for visiting Ted’s page.
