Joel Nathan Stubbs

Joel was born in Carrollton, TX on October 26, 1994 and passed away in Gig Harbor, WA on April 5, 2016 at the age of 21. Joel grew up in north Texas and moved with his family to Gig Harbor in 2011. He attended Gig Harbor High School and Clover Park Technical College. Joel was an artistic spirit whose creativity found expression through writing, drama, drawing and street dance known as shuffling. Joel authored several fantasy novels. He also had a love of video games, with his favorites being Zelda and Final Fantasy. He had a passion for electronic music and the dance culture that accompanies it. A loving soul with a great sense of humor, Joel was an earnest listener possessing an unforgettable smile and laugh. His sociable spirit led him to others who discovered a person that was outgoing and enjoyed making new friends while treasuring those he had already found. Joel was very generous in spirit, always willing to give the shirt off his back and sharing whatever he had with others. Joel was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Stubbs, and is loved and survived by his mother, Laura Stubbs, his older brother Paul and his younger brother Tim.
