Lisa "Maxwell" Marie Casey
August 20th, 1951 - December 15th, 2005
Lisa Marie Maxwell CaseyAugust 20, 1951 ~ December 15, 2005 Lisa Marie Maxwell Casey, died suddenly and unexpectedly on December 15, 2005 while visiting her life-long friends in Olympia and over the Christmas holidays. Lisa was born in Seattle on August 20, 1951 and spent most of her life in Washington. She graduated from Edmonds High School in 1969 and attended Edmonds Community College for two years. Lisa began her life adventures when she traveled with friends to Alaska where she became a chef aboard a large fishing vessel. She returned to the Seattle area where she worked in several kitchen positions in some of the finest Seattle restaurants. Later, she helped her step-father Richard Paquette establish Beba’s Delicatessen in Queen Anne. It was here that she met her future husband, Gregory Casey, whose employment took Lisa to Japan, Thailand, Russia, Africa and Costa Rica. Lisa and Greg resided on Bainbridge Island from the mid-1970’s until she took up residence in Panama City, Panama in 2003 while her husband worked for the United Nations Peace-Keeping-Mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. Lisa was a vivacious and flamboyant woman who loved to travel, particularly by train. During her short lifetime, she traveled across all of Russia on the Trans-Siberian Express, across Western Canada on the Canadian Pacific, the overnight train from Bangkok to Chang-Mai, the luxurious Blue Train from Pretoria to Cape Town and was invited to take the throttle in the cab of the steam locomotive on a trip with the Mount Rainier Scenic Railway. Lisa is survived by her mother, Barbara Paquette, sister, Paula Maxwell, brother, Raymond Maxwell, all of Seattle, and her husband of 16 years, Gregory. No service will be held, however, a special memorial has been planned for invited guests to help scatter her ashes in the surroundings she loved so much.
