Shirley Elizabeth Dean

Shirley Elizabeth Dean, 88 of Venice, FL died Sunday, January 17, 2016 at the Tidewell Hospice House in Englewood, FL. Shirley was born on June 5, 1927 in Titusville, PA to the late Russell and Hazel (Moore) Dean. She was raised by her grandparents, George and Elizabeth Dean in Grand Valley, PA. She graduated from Youngsville High School in 1945. Shirley married Harold L. Dean on July 11, 1946 in Franklin, Pa. Following their marriage they resided in Pleasantville and later Russell, PA. They retired to Florida in 1991. Shirley was a home maker and also worked at Sylvania in Titusville and then New Process in Warren. Shirley was preceded in death by her husband Harold in 2006 and a great grandchild, Shawn Burton in 2004. Shirley is survived by three sons: Dennis Dean and his wife Sandra of Edmund, OK; Craig Dean and his wife Debbie of Englewood, FL; Stephen Dean and his wife Holly of Norwich, CT; one sister: Naomi Edwards of Grand Valley; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. The family extends special thanks to the staff and volunteers of Tidewell Hospice for the loving end-of-life care that Shirley received. Service will be private.
