James Dale Ratliff
August 20th, 1936 - February 20th, 2016
James Dale Ratliff, 79, of Englewood passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2016. He was born on August 20, 1936 in Praise, KY to Mallie and Mary Ratliff. Mr. Ratliff served in the US Navy and Marine Corps. Jim moved to Englewood 30 years ago from Pikeville, KY and has served as the Pastor of the East Englewood Church of God for many years. Jim is survived by his three children: Suzanne Canada of Pikeville, KY, Mary Rogers of Bridgeport, AL; Jimmie D. Ratliff, II of Englewood, FL; one brother: Dorse Gene Clevenger of Marrowbone, KY; six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Carolynn Sue Ratliff in 2012. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 and Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at East Englewood Church of Christ, 9600 Gulfstream Blvd., Englewood, FL 34224 from 6 PM to 9 PM. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 11 AM. at the East Englewood Church of Christ. Interment eith honors will follow at Sarasota National VA Cemetery at 1:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the church in Pastor Ratliff's memory. Englewood Community Funeral Home has been selected to handle arrangements.
