Richard Francis Gaffney, 79, of Englewood, FL passed away Thursday, June 9, 2016 at the Englewood Hospice House. He was born in New York, NY on July 27, 1936 to Francis and Edna (Nichols) Gaffney. Mr. Gaffney was a truck driver for Savino Oil Co. and Hess Oil Co. He moved to Florida 25 years ago from Staten Island, NY. Richard was a communicant of St. Raphael's Catholic Church. He loved traveling, music and horse races. He is survived by his wife of 45 years: Dorothy M. Gaffney of Englewood, his son: Richard A. Gaffney of Staten Island, NY; a brother: William (June) Gaffney of Love Oak, FL. He was preceded in death by his daughter Charla Gaffney. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Raphael's Catholic Church 770 Kilbourne Ave. Englewood, FL 34224.
