James Thomas Hendee

James Thomas Hendee, 71, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 at his Charlotte County residence. Born on November 20, 1945 in Detroit, he had been a Florida resident for eleven years coming from Pinckney, Michigan. Mr. Hendee was a commercial construction carpenter prior to working for the State of Michigan when he retired in 2003. When he moved to the Englewood area, he worked for True Value Hardware in Englewood for a year. His hobbies included travel, home re-finishing and building furniture. He loved to surf fish at Chalet Laun. Survivors include his loving wife of fifty-two years: Sherry Hendee; one daughter: Rhonie R. (Jack Fassnacht) Hendee of Chicago, Illinois; two sons: Thomas O. Hendee and Kaiden Joseph Valentine both of Englewood, Florida and; one sister: Agnes "Nancy" Colarossi of Plymouth, Michigan; one brother: Donald D. Hendee of Tennessee; two grandchildren: Isabella and Benjamin Breedveld. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 26, 2016 from 2 PM until 3:30 PM at Englewood Community Funeral Home with Private Crematory, 3070 South McCall Road, Englewood.
