Frederick Pratt
July 26th, 1943 - October 5th, 2009
Frederick Richard Pratt, 66 of Port Charlotte, died Monday, October 5, 2009 at Englewood Community Hospital. He was born on July 26, 1943 in Pittsfield, MA to Ashley and Mary (Cate) Pratt. Fred and his wife Joan moved to Port Charlotte in 1992 from Chatham, NY after he retired from Conrail Railroad after 30 years of service. He then worked for Denny's in Englewood, Southern Church Envelope in Venice and APAC in Sarasota. He enjoyed NASCAR, bowling and playing computer games. Survivors include his wife of 46 years Joan Pratt: three children; Paul (Linda) Pratt of Chatham, NY., Darin (Kathi) Pratt of Nassau, NY and Heather (Don) Grantham of Englewood: eight grandchildren; Josh, Christopher, Connor, Darik, Leah and Hailey Pratt, Ryan and Austin Grantham: two step grandchildren; David and Elliott Stanley: six sisters; Dorothy Forfa of Englewood, Viola Yount of Merritt Island, Shirley (Clarence) Watkins of Orlando, Jean (Tom) Hanson of Nassau, NY., Eloise (Art) Dunton of Simpsonville, SC., Arabella Masse of Gray Court, SC and one brother; Larry (Pat) Pratt of Venice, FL and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Pratt is predeceased by a son; Lorin, his parents Ashley and Mary: brother Ashley Jr. and sister; Luella Nichols. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2009 at Englewood Community Funeral Home, Inc. 3070 S. McCall Rd. at 10:00 A.M.
