II TIMOTHY 4:7 I HAVE FOUGHT A GOOD FIGHT, I HAVE FINISHED MY COURSE, I HAVE KEPT THE FAITH. Norma Kinkead Cradic, 88 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at her home with her family by her side following a lengthy illness. She was born in Church Hill, Tennessee and resided the majority of her life in Kingsport. After high school, she was employed by Tennessee Eastman Company in the Yarn Department for a short period of time. After she was married, she was a stay-at-home mom until her last child started school and she worked for Sullivan County School System in the cafeteria at Kingsley Elementary School for several years. She enjoyed being around the children and was even called Nanny by several of the kids. In addition to enjoying traveling with her late husband, she also enjoyed working in her flower garden and looked forward to spring each year. She loved collecting dolls and watching cooking shows. Anyone who knew her knew not to call during The Wheel of Fortune or Jeopardy! because she did not want to answer the phone. Her greatest love, were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved to laugh and made everyone feel welcome in her home. Mrs. Cradic was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, James Cradic; her parents, Claude and Grace Boyd Kinkead; a sister, Alma Cassidy; and three brothers, A.D. Kinkead, Jerry Kinkead, and Fred Kinkead. Survivors include her four children, Susie Cradic Curtis, Mike Cradic and Robin Cradic Wilson, all of Kingsport and Greg Cradic & wife Thelma of Gate City, VA; seven grandchildren, Melanie Martino & husband Mitch, Jason Richards & wife Melissa, Haley Cradic, Caleb Cradic, Lauren Wilson, Kristen Cradic and Rachel Cradic; two great grandchildren, Morgan Martino and Lexie Dykes; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport. Friends may also call anytime at the home of Susie Curtis. A funeral service will be conducted at 7 pm with Pastor Jonathan Lovelace, officiating. Music will be provided by The Promise Church. Graveside services will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at Oak Hill Memorial Park, Kingsport. Pallbearers will be Mike Cradic, Greg Cradic, Caleb Cradic, Jason Richards, Keith Carr and Tim Hernard. Honorary pallbearers are Melanie Martino, Haley Cradic, Lauren Wilson, Morgan Martino, Kristen Cradic, Rachel Cradic and Lexie Dykes.
