Rose M. Berry
November 2nd, 1942 - September 15th, 2014
Rose Marie Bishop Berry, of Church Hill, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday morning at 7:00 am at her residence following a courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Kingsport and had resided in Church Hill since 1980. Rose worked for 10 years at Hill's/Ames Department Store. She worked for over 30 years as a cafeteria manager with Kingsport City Schools. Mrs. Berry was a faithful member of Walnut Chapel Primitive Baptist Church for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Farley and Lelia Sumner Bishop; a sister, Lola Jean Bishop; brothers, Wilbur Bishop and Ray Bishop; nieces, Diane Berry and Dana Ketron; nephew, Ray Bishop, Jr.; special friends, Eula and Gladys. Rose Berry is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Wallace Berry, Sr.; children, Wallace Berry, Jr., Cherie Garner and husband, Ken, Conway Berry; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; sisters, Suella Ketron and Nancy Cody; a special niece, Ronda; special friends, Martha, Rachel, Edna, Dana, Jennifer, Frank, Jonathan, Brad, Gloria, Janeth, Roxanne, and many more; several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law that were special to her along with several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday (September 17, 2014) from 5 pm to 7 pm at Walnut Chapel Primitive Baptist Church. A funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday (September 17, 2014) at 7 pm at Walnut Chapel Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Allen Hensley and Elder Scott Tipton, officiating. Music will be provided by Patsy Hensley, Brenda Head, The Ward family, and Mishayla Johnson. A graveside service will be conducted on Thursday (September 18, 2014) at 1 pm at Walnut Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery with Ken Garner, Ford Berry, Billy Jack Johnson, Jonathan Chase, Creighton Berry, and Sid Grizzel serving as pallbearers. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown is serving the Berry family.
