Brian was tragically taken from us after suffering a massive bleed on his brain from blood thinners that he was taking for a heart condition. Brian was a fun, loving, caring and very generous person. He and his newlywed bride, Katie, have 2 Siamese cats and a Boston Terrier, all of which he adored beyond words. He loved music, singing karaoke, and anything Disney. He was an avid sports fanatic, and enjoyed bantering and trash talking with friends who have rival sports teams. Boating and fishing were also on the top of Brian's list of things to do and enjoy. Brian suffered with chronic health issues throughout his life. But he never let his health define him, or use it as an excuse! Instead, he always thought of others who were less fortunate than him. He enjoyed volunteering at Habitat for Humanity. He would give you the shirt off of his back, and then ask what else you needed. His philosophy was "if I don't need it or can't use it, give it to someone who can. Don't let it go to waste." Brian's generosity followed him to the end. As a final act, he donated his two kidneys to individuals who will now have an opportunity to live full, healthy and productive lives! One recipient is a 16 y/o boy, and the other is a 35 y/o woman…she is the same age as Brian. He will live on through them! BRIAN IS OUR SUPER HERO!!! Brian is preceded in death by his brother, Jared Mason, his maternal grandfather, Austin G. Evans, and his paternal grandmother, Maureen Nelson. He is survived by his newlywed bride, Kaitlin (Katie) Zachelmeyer Mason, his parents, Larry and Marsha Mason, his maternal grandmother, Mary A. Evans Lipstate, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. There will be a Celebration of Life in Brian's honor on Saturday, February 17, 2018. It will be held from3-5 pm at the Bobcat Trail Community Center, adjacent to the Charlotte Harbor National Gold Club…1352 Bobcat Trail, North Port, FL. 34288. Everyone is welcome. Please dress to celebrate, not to mourn! Final arrangements are being made through Englewood Community Funeral Home. www.englewoodfh.com
