JOSEPH H. BAKER, Sr., 87, of Englewood passed away Friday, June 8, 2012 at Tidewell Hospice. Born on July 14, 1924 in Middleboro, Massachusetts he served in the US Army Air Corp as a pilot during WW II in the European Theater. Joseph had been a resident of Florida since 1939 and of Englewood for thirty years coming from Fort Myers. Joseph graduated from MIT in engineering and went on to own and operate his own construction company. After his move to Florida, he surveyed all of Cape Coral, Rotonda and parts of Englewood. Survivors include his son: Joseph H. (Tammy) Baker, Jr. of Ft. Myers, FL: two daughters: Kathy (Mike) Schworm of Placida, FL and Pam (Vernon) Kohlenberg of Englewood, FL; ten grand children and one great grand son. Interment and honors will be on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 12:45 PM at Bay Pines National Cemetery in St. Petersburg, FL.
