Arthur Albert Arditti
May 23rd, 1928 - June 21st, 2018
Arthur Albert Arditti, age 90, passed away peacefully at his home in Englewood, Florida on Thursday, June 21, 2018. Born on May 23, 1928 in New York, New York to Albert Aaron and Diana Rebby Arditti. After graduating from high school at 16 years old, he attended and graduated from Williams College in Williamstown, Massachusetts with a BA in Economics and Romance Languages. He received his diploma from President Dwight Eisenhower. Fondly known as "Arturo" to many, he loved traveling to Italy and had a second home for many years in Loro Ciuffena, in the region of Arezzo. He was fluent in Italian, Spanish anD French. He adored proverbs and some of his favorites to share were - Chi Va Piano Va Lontano which means in Italian, Those who go slowly go far. May all your words be chosen ones. Arthur was President of Edward P. Paul & Co., Inc. based in Plainfield, New Jersey, an importer and manufacturer of fine European furnishings and decorative accessories. He also served on the board of the Italian American Chamber of Commerce and was a lifelong member of the Freemasons. In addition to his parents, his sister Lucille and brother Edward preceded Arthur in death. Arthur will be forever remembered by his wife of 70 years, Shirley Ann (Button) formerly of North Adams, Massachusetts and their children; Andrew Arditti and his wife Sharon of Martinsville, NJ; Robert Arditti of Venice, FL and Alison Simioni and her husband Edward of South Hampton, NY. He will also be forever remembered by his grandchildren; Alec, Emily, Adrian, Eric, Evan and extended family and dear friends. A family gathering will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church in Williamstown, MA on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at 9:00 AM with burial following at Eastlawn Cemetery in Williamstown, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to LOVELAND at 157 S. Havana Rd. Venice, Florida 34292. Please mention you are donating in Arthur Arditti's memory.
