Helen Ketron Neeley
July 11th, 1922 - October 9th, 2013
Kingsport - Helen Ruth Ketron Neeley, 91 of Kingsport passed away Wednesday October 9, 2013 at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center after a brief illness. Helen was a resident at Holston Manor Nursing Facility, living most of her life at 529 Dale Street, Kingsport. She was a member of the Salvation Army of Kingsport. Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years (H.P.) Harvey Patton Neeley, Sr.; her parents, Mattie and Samuel Joseph Ketron; youngest son, Sam Neeley; son-in-law, Larry Collins; sisters, Bertha Ketron Wolfe, Effie Ketron, Wanda Ketron Smith, Ruby Ketron Carrico and husband Lee and a very special "sister"-in-law, Leona Neeley Glass all of Kingsport; brothers, Walter Ketron and wife Sara, Hubert Ketron and wife Florida, Wallace Wolfe and wife Ethel. She is survived by her son, Harvey (Pat) Neeley and wife Shirley; daughter, Mary Sue Neeley Collins; daughter -in-law, Joyce Byrd Neeley; special neice Donna Glass; brother-in-law, Calvin Smith; grandchildren, Sharon Neeley DeBord and husband, T.J., Christopher Neeley and wife Misty, Lisa Collins Swanson and husband Dennis, Georgette Collins Berry and husband Justin; great grandchildren, Jordan, Seth and Amanda DeBord, Blake Neeley, D.J. and Brendan Swanson, James Bryan, Nathan Schroeder and several nieces and nephews. Helen was very active in many positions and offices during her 83 years attendance at the Salvation Army where she put her heart in God's work and continued to carry her life's desire to serve God before coming to her final resting place. Graveside memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 13, 2013 at Oak Hill Memorial Park, Kingsport with Pastor Jerry Musick officiating with burial to follow.
