November 24th, 1941 - August 3rd, 2021
R. Michael McNamara passed the evening of August 3, 2021 in Rotonda West, FL, after 79 fun-filled years. Mike is survived by his wife of 53 years Ilene Biringer, sons and spouses Brian and Mary Wilson, Terrence and Michele Devole, and Brendon and Karen Jagatic; as well as grandchildren Kellyn, Kevin, Kate, Nicholas, Cole, Kacey and Michael. He was born in Buffalo, NY to James and Margaret (Quill) McNamara, and was one of 11 children of the blended McNamara-O'Rourke clan. Mike retired from a long and distinguished career with the City of Buffalo as the Deputy Comptroller, followed by several years performance consulting in the energy industry, before finally retiring with Ilene to a beautiful golf-course oasis in Florida. Whether you knew him from life in Buffalo to the shores of Lake Erie or anywhere in between, please raise a glass to salute the life of Mike McNamara. Yes, a chocolate milkshake counts...he'd have one with you.
