Benjamin Kress

Benjamin C. Kress, 86, of Kingsport, went home to be with his Lord on May 25, 2013 at 8:39 pm at Indian Path Medical Center. Benjamin was born August 4, 1926. He was a retiree of Mead Paper Corporation. Benjamin was a devoted husband, father grandfather and great grandfather. He never met a stranger, and he loved his Lord Jesus Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Hazel Kress; two sons, Ronald and Carroll Kress; along with several brothers and sisters. He is survived by his two daughters, Sandra Stapleton and husband, Bill and Marsha Kress; special son, Larry Ray; five grandchildren, Chris Ray and wife Sherri, Tina Addair and husband Luke, Priscilla Kress, Christina Coppage and Amy Kress; six great grandchildren, Kapan and Madison Ray, Sophia, Lucy and Alice Addair and Emily Walker; along with numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 12 pm to 2 pm on Friday, May 31, 2013 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, 520 Watauga Street, Kingsport. A service will be held at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Chris Alford officiating. Music will be provided by Kristina Alford and Portia Kress. Burial will follow at Gunnings Cemetery, Blountville, TN. Pallbearers will be Luke Addair, Larry Ray, Jay Kitzmiller, Jerry Headrick, Staff Sergaent Jose Reyes and Phil Pipkin. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport, is serving the Kress family.
