Daniel E Wilson

Daniel E Wilson passed away at his home in Placida, Fl on October 29,2021 at the age of 90 years old after a long illness. Danny was born in Wilmington, De on September 4, 1931. He graduated from Wilmington High in 1949 where he lettered in both basketball and baseball. Danny then attended American University on a basketball scholarship but his education was interrupted by four years in the U S Air Force where he attained the rank of Staff Sargent. Danny was a very avid sports fan--any sport-- but he was most passionate about the "Phillies". Danny never met a stranger and could carry on a conversation with anyone young or old alike. He was employed by Dupont at Newport for 38 years before retiring to Lewes-Rehoboth Beach and then to Placida, Florida. Danny was predeceased by his Mother Nellie Wilson O'Connor and his father Daniel E Wilson. He is survived by his wife of 38 years Dolores (Lithgow) a step son Dr. Theodore Lithgow six step grandchildren, and three step great grandchildren. Cousins Fred Palmer of Wilmington, Virginia Scott of Milford and Robert Donovan of Salisbury, MD. A Memorial Service for friends and family will be held at Groome Church, 601 Savannah Rd, Lewes Delaware, at 10:30 a.m on Monday, November 15th with burial thereafter at Slaughter Beach Cemetery.
