Joe V Kitchen
July 3rd, 1936 - February 18th, 2014
Joe V. Kitchen, Jr. Joe was born to Joe V. and Mary (Eche) Kitchen on July 3, 1936. He passed away Feb. 18, 2014, at the age of 77. He lived his entire life in the Sumner/Orting Valley, graduating from Orting High School in 1954, where he excelled at football and basketball. He owned a successful construction company for over 50 years; developing, home building, remodeling, rentals, and self-storage. His most notable project being the Puyallup Executive Park Building (aka blue cube). He loved his special friends, the Kings Men car club, horse racing, golf, boating, fishing and especially crabbing/shrimping with our wonderful neighbors on Hood Canal. He was the past exalted ruler of the Puyallup Elks, former member of Day Island Yacht Club, Fox Island Yacht Club and the Eagles Boat Club. A special thanks to Dr. Robert McCroskey and the amazing staff at Rainier Oncology. Joe is preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Jason. He is survived by his wife of almost 34 years, Judi, his sons, James (Kari), Allen, stepson, William Fox, grandson, Adam, granddaughter, Courtney and sisters Nadine and Ellen. Mass will be held Wed., Feb 26th, 11:00 a.m., St. Andrews Catholic Church, 1401 Valley Ave., Sumner. Reception to follow at Kelley Farm, Bonney Lake.
