Ali tragically passed away with her father on July 19, 2008 in a car accident near Rupert, Idaho. She was born in Mesa Arizona on September 21, 1979 to Craig and Kathy Walther. She was the middle child and the only girl of five children. In her early childhood Ali developed a love for teaching, singing, volleyball, along with several other talents. Ali sang in several choirs and played volleyball throughout school. In 1998 she graduated with honors from Rogers High School in Puyallup, WA. She attended Brigham Young University (BYU) in Provo, Utah from 1998-2002. In June 2000, she was married to the love of her life, Jeremy Van Gieson, in the Seattle LDS temple. In April of 2002 she received a BS in elementary education, and taught for one year prior to having her first child. The birth of Ali's first child fulfilled a life long dream of being a mother. She has dedicated her life to this cause. Ali was born to be a mother. As a child she always helped with her little brothers. She was a friend to all those she knew. Her absence has left both family and friends devastated. She is survived by her husband and three beautiful children; Brinley, Jacob and Tyler. Ali will always be remembered for her loving personality, her beautiful smile and the fact that she always knew she was right. She is loved by so many and will always be remembered.
