Marion Betts, 85, of Rotonda West passed away on Friday, February 1, 2013 at her Charlotte County residence. Born on December 13, 1927 in Detroit, MI to Leroy and Bessie (Evans) Patterson, she was a loving wife, mother and homemaker for her family. Mrs. Betts owned and operated Main Street Art in Milford, MI for several years. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, B.P.O. Elks, Women of the Moose, Englewood Orchid Society, Rotonda Book Club, Rotonda West Women's Association and Red Hat Society. She was an avid golfer and retired to Florida in 1998. Survivors include her loving husband of sixty-eight years: H. Glen Betts of Rotonda West, FL; two daughter's Patricia (Skip) Hintz of Rotonda West, FL; Janice (Geoff) Schrock of Belleville, MI; one son: Herbert Glen (Linda) Betts, III of Milford, MI; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marcia Bowman in 2009. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2013 at 1 PM at the American Legion Post 113, 3436 Indiana Road, Rotonda West. Interment will be in Michigan. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary or Tidewell Hospice in memory of Mrs. Betts. Englewood Community Funeral Home with Private Crematory has been selected to handle arrangements.
