Robert James Powers

Robert J. Powers was born on August 2, 1956 in Tacoma and died on January 1, 2015 in Puyallup. He was a funeral director/embalmer having worked for his father, Pierce Powers, owner of Powers Funeral Homes in the Puyallup Valley. Robert enjoyed Corvettes, limousines, Mercedes, boating, flying, motorcycles, scuba diving, ham radios, music and the beach. He was the founder of the Pierce Group which owned multiple funeral homes and cemeteries in S.W. Washington and Oregon. He was also the owner of Patriot Limousine. He is survived by his wife, Cathy, Puyallup; Daughter, Patricia, Ohio; Mother, Eileen Powers, Puyallup; Brother, Richard Powers, Sumner; Two grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 8 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 1401 Valley Ave. E. Sumner. Interment will follow at Sumner Cemetery.
