Teddy Stephen Schwab
September 24th, 1945 - February 16th, 2009
Teddy “Ted” Stephen Schwab (b. September 24th, 1945) marched triumphantly into the Lord’s arms on February 16th, 2009 after a valiant battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Karyn , mother, Neoma Forsyth of Mesa, AZ; children Don (Kerri ) Schwab, Angie (Courtney) Bradbury and Jody (Ron) Anderson; five grandchildren, two sisters and a brother. He was preceded in death by his father, Adam Schwab. Ted loved the outdoors, especially fishing and duck hunting. He was an active member of All Saints Parish in Puyallup where he made a significant contribution to the church’s interior improvement project and placement of the altar. A Vigil will be held Friday February 20 at 7 p.m. at All Saints Parish followed by a Funeral Mass on Saturday February 21 at Noon. Interment will follow at Woodbine Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made in Ted’s name to All Saints Parish, 204 6th Ave. SW, Puyallup, WA 98371-5880. A Friend in Need by Joy Cowley Lord, I am hurting. I feel like a tree with its roots laid bare. Suddenly there seems to be no support, and I don’t know what to do about it. I know that adversity builds character, but that’s tomorrow’s story, and it has no meaning for now. What I need, Lord, is a friend. Choose my friend carefully. Please, no one who’s going to tell me how to put my life straight, no amateur analyst or teacher, no preacher, no well-meaning person who is going to “you should” all over me. I want someone to come in the door with a smile and a big warm hug to let me know I am valuable just as I am. There’ll be no advice, no expectation of change. My friend will already know that pain is important in journey and must be traveled through. My friend will stay beside me and hold my hand while I make my own discoveries. And then, when all this is over, Lord, help me to remember two things: to say, “Thank you,” and to be a friend with a big warm hug to someone else in pain.
